Mechanical Engineer Role Overview:
As a Mechanical Engineer at Agg-Pro, your primary responsibility is to ensure that all jobs undertaken in the workshop are completed within specified deadlines and to a high standard.
You will work closely with the Factory Manager to support the implementation of the company’s Health and Safety policy within the workshop.
Your expertise in fault diagnosis, maintenance and fabrication will ensure all machinery is performing to its optimum, therefore maintaining our high levels of customer satisfaction. All of this will contribute to the success and growth of the company.
Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Engineer:
Undertake servicing, repair, dismantling and rebuilding of heavy plant machinery, which includes mobile crushers, screeners, stackers, trommels and shredders.
Perform fault diagnosis on hydraulic and 24 VDC electrical systems of heavy plant machinery.
Utilise technical expertise and diagnostic tools to identify and resolve issues, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Conduct fitting, welding and fabrication tasks as required; adhering to safety guidelines and industry standards.
Operate workshop machinery and equipment to support maintenance, repair and fabrication activities.
Engage in general workshop duties to support overall operations, including cleaning, organising tools and equipment thus maintaining a safe and tidy working environment.
Assist in inventory management, ensuring adequate stock levels of necessary components and supplies.
Adhere to all stated policies and procedures related to Health and Safety, following established protocols to mitigate risks and maintain a safe work environment.
Take personal responsibility for Health and Safety at work, reporting any hazards or incidents promptly.
Perform any other reasonable duties as directed by the line manager, contributing to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the workshop.
Experience needed of our Mechanical Engineer
Eg. Previous heavy plant fitting experience
