Our business has grown to become the largest company within the wood fuel market, as we’re committed to providing high quality products at excellent value.

The company is undergoing a period of substantial growth. Lots of significant activities are taking place, including but not limited to the acquisition of new production facilities, a rebranding exercise, and a renewed focus on FMCG wholesale opportunities. As a result, we are looking to appoint a Head of National Sales, who will target wholesale FMCG sales opportunities within blue-chip high-street customers.

About the Role of Head of National Sales

This role will head up an existing team of 2 Internal Sales Managers and report into the Operations Director. From the outset this is a senior level role within the business, but success in the role will be rewarded with a generous bonus scheme, and promotion to be part of the Directors team.

Duties and responsibilities will be varied and evolve over time, but we envisage the Head of National Sales being responsible for –

  • Developing our high street value proposition – products, range, presentation, commercials, marketing.
  • Creating a sales culture, where every opportunity is classified and actively targeted.
  • Building a sales pipeline to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales and profitability targets.
  • Taking personal responsibility for monthly sales and profitability targets
  • Identifying and approaching existing and new customer targets.
  • Uncovering and acting upon market data.
  • Using pricing tools and making good commercial decisions.
  • Processing quotations & sales orders for customers.
  • Managing the company’s CRM systems.
  • Communicating effectively with all stakeholders – internal and external.
  • Working with all departments – marketing, supply chain, accounts, customer services.
  • Efficiently managing the existing Internal sales Managers.


The ideal Head of National Sales will have the following skills and experiences:

  • Experience of FMCG sales opportunities within blue-chip high-street customers.
  • Presentable, professional and target driven.
  • Use of CRM systems.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Good communication, both written and verbal across all levels.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
